I’ll post them here and on Twitter every Tuesday and Thursday using the hashtag #KongsTdayTunes.

The SNES version of Shadowrun is one weird game. It’s an isometric action-RPG with a reticle and dialogue trees, and it’s based on a cyberpunk pen & paper game. It’s awesome. The world feels stifling and small but full of possibility. And of course it has great atmospheric music.

“Seattle Blues” is kind of like this game’s equivalent of an overworld theme. One of them, anyway, since the music changes in different areas. I really like this one because it spends 40 seconds just establishing atmosphere and ambiance before finally settling into its rhythm and whistling out Jake’s grungy gunslinger melody.

Game: Shadowrun (SNES, 1993)
Composer: Marshall Parker
